My Career

In year 2000, after my Advanced Level Examination, I was able to have a chance to engage with a marketing survey carried out by the Coca-Cola head office, Colombo, Sri Lanka. That saturated me with experiences and knowledge in how a large organization like coca cola applies their marketing strategies to increase their market share.

While I’m following my final year studies at the Sabaragamuwa University, I was able to get a chance, work as a GIS Software Developer, in EI Technologies, Colombo, Sri Lanka. EIT is an innovative company which is developing a wide variety of software products such as EstiMaster (Automated B.O.Q. Application), POS Systems & GIS / MIS related decision support systems. I have worked on some very interesting projects & my job was very interesting at EIT.

I came to Dubai on 21^st of October 2006, just after completing my Surveying Sciences Degree program. I have worked as a Survey Engineer for Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company Ltd.

Project: Jabel Ali New Container Terminal Project, LCC2 & LCC3.

I’m responsible for

1.      Managing the Excavations for portable & Sewage water (Underground) Pipe Laying

2.      Setting out positions by using Trimble RTK GPS & Total Station

3.      Maintain the slope & the elevation of the underground pipes (gravity & pressure pipes)
